- ate a fish disease from your DT (display tank). Going fallow works because you are denying the disease a fish host to feed upon, essentially starving it to death. In order to go fallow you must remove ALL fish from your DT
- In HumbleFish there are many links to scientific information and studies which support 76-77 degrees and 72 days fallow so long as you don't allow for low oxygen areas creating settings where the pathogen goes dormant when exposed to low oxygen and therefore resulting in the survival of 72 days
- ute formalin bath (e.g. Quick Cure), followed by transfer into a new/sterile QT. * The fallow (fishless) period for starving Brook out of a Display Tank is 6 weeks

So I spend a bit of time here and there on hubblefishes forum and it seems that the latest guidance on fallow ich periods has changed. It used to be 78 days but if you keep your temp constantly above 81.6 then you are good to go after 7 weeks. Thought i would pass that along
Section to ask Humblefish questions about marine life disease. 1; 2; 3; Next. 1 of 6) Increase the DT to 80.6 F to cut the fallow period to 6 weeks 7) Follow @Humblefish's QT regimen 8) Keep fish in QT after treatment is finished until fallow period is over 9) Move fish back to DT and QT ALL NEW FISH GOING FORWARD! Additional Questions 1) Should I use fresh water mollies to test that the DT and/or the QT is really pest free Ich won't harm any inverts. But they can be carriers of it. Leave them in the DT and don't add anything to the tank for the rest of the fallow period which is generally 72-80 days. (I'm going with 80 to be safe) Well, I lost ,my livestock to Ich. Lesson learnt. Quarantine new things you put into tank. I have started a separate 20 G tank just for tis purpose. Any new addition goers through a 4 week QT cycle. The last thing that I put into my tank were Pipe Corals. Can Ich hitch-hike through corals? or doe..

- The treatment is for 30 days, and the rest of the fallow period will be with no medication. My fear is that they get infected after treatment if they stay in the same tank. Should I buy another sterile tank with a new filter for the rest of the period? or is the CP going to kill any cysts
- * There is no fallow period for Uronema. Once a tank has Uronema, it must be assumed that the disease can survive in there almost indefinitely. Additional Information Uronema marinum is a ciliate parasite with a direct life cycle: It lives, feeds and reproduces directly on the fish (no encysted stage)
- You can test to see if a fallow period has been successful by using 2-3 black mollies, before introducing your QTd fish back into the aquarium. I advise a 2 week test period before giving the all-clear. You can house the mollies in an acclimation box or low flow area of your sump; or let them swim freely in your DT (they are easy to catch.
- Flukes are translucent and not easily visible on most fish; they will turn white or opaque only when exposed to freshwater. Behavioral symptoms including scratching, heavy breathing, yawning and head twitching. The fallow period for flukes is 4 weeks. watson

You can house the mollies in an acclimation box or low flow area of your sump; or let them swim freely in your DT (they are easy to catch) There is no fallow period for Trichodina because the organism can subsist off bacteria; pretty much every tank will eventually get these parasites (through inverts)!! The good news is that most species of Trichodina are nonpathogenic and even the harmful ones are usually only a problem for weakened fish being housed in poor conditions. (Poor. Before Humblefish came on the scene and really went crazy studying and basically devoting his life to fish disease it was Snorvich who led the pack and was at the forefront on the forums (Mainly RC). He was very knowledgeable and had the credentials to back it up. Uronema marinum - No fallow period, as it does not require a fish host to.

- i was wondering, when you introduce new fish, would a timed UV exposure cycle (say 30 days) assist in acclimation and resilience
